The Mal Thursday Show #82: Revisiting LOVE with Johnny Echols
May 24, 2016 07:42 AM PDT

Mal is joined by Johnny Echols, lead guitarist of the legendary Los Angeles-based '60s band LOVE. Johnny is touring the U.K. in late June and early July 2016 with LOVE Revisited (tour dates below), the same band that teamed with LOVE main man Arthur Lee on his triumphant comeback shows in the late '90s and early aughts. Johnny cherry-picks his favorite tracks (spoiler alert: usually the ones with extended guitar solos) from the band's classic 1966-67 period on Elektra Records, and lays some essential oral history on you in the process. Songs by Arthur Lee, Bryan Maclean, Bacharach-David. Guitar by Johnny Echols.
